The Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment is funding a Legacy Fishing Gear -Waste Management Programme during October and November 2025. This means that Haul It Back will manage waste fishing gear free of charge for fishermen/fisherwomen (aquaculture & commercial fishing).

This service is free for this year only. We cannot confirm if funding will be available in 2026, so we encourage fishermen to take advantage of this opportunity while it lasts.

We are developing a plan to establish dedicated collection points near selected ports around the country. Once finalised, we will share details of dates and locations widely.

At this stage, we ask fishermen to complete the Expression of Interest Form below. The responses received will determine where collection points will be set up.

We are currently working with reuse, recycling, and disposal outlets to manage waste fishing gear responsibly.
